Quiet Dappled Light, ©2013 Ellen Lindner
16 ½ x 10 ½, $145

Rural Orange County, VA, where I grew up, has many
narrow, twisting county roads.  Because they have no
shoulders, the trees grow right up near the pavement.
The result is a wonderful canopy of branches and leaves
overhead.  A summer drive on one of these roads is
delightful.  Rolling green hills, crops lined up in rows,
and dappled light overhead.

Cotton, silk, and synthetic fabrics.  Cotton batting,
fabric paint, and embroidery floss.  Raw edge collage,
 machine stitching, painting, hand stitching.
