Gift Envelope
Giving any gift certificates this holiday season? If so, you might like a way to dress them up.

I often make fabric envelopes, like the one at left, to use when giving such gifts. They're very easy to make, and I've included instructions here.

Work in Progress
Last month, I showed you the inspiration photo for my latest quilt. I also mentioned that I intended to be "inspired by the photo, rather than owned by it." With that in mind, I made several changes: most notably, the background color.

You can see my progress at right. (This photo shows everything pinned and/or glued in place.) I'm very happy with it! Although I think this image stands on its own, I've about decided to add a border. That can be a little challenging, since it needs to relate to the interior portion, without distracting from it. What would you do? Next month, I'll show you what I come up with.
