E-books:
What is an e-book? It's a book which is provided in the form of a computer file. You download it to your computer, from the internet. You can read it on your computer or print the pages, using ink-friendly options. (See the download section, below.)
I understand that I can read the file on my computer, or print it out. If I decide to print the pages, will it take a lot of ink? Probably not. Many pages can be printed in grayscale, and the photos have been consolidated. One section of the book is called Easy on the Ink, and it explains the options.
What advantages do e-books have over printed books? 1) They're available immediately, without leaving home. 2) They're less expensive.
What advantages do e-books have over an online class with Ellen? Convenience. All the class material is available at your leisure.
What disadvantages do e-books have compared to an online class with Ellen? Lack of teacher interaction, as well as the inability to "listen in" on Ellen's advice to other students. Ellen's students consistently report that this interaction greatly enhances their learning. However, an e-book is a great alternative for those whose schedules don't accommodate a full class, or for those who learn well on their own.
Payment:
Why does this site use PayPal for financial transactions?
PayPal acts as a secure financial middle man.
With it, you never have to share financial information with the
seller. PayPal's secure site protects your privacy and financial
information. Learn more about PayPal at www.paypal.com.
I don't like the idea of opening a PayPal account. What other options do I have?
You can make a one-time purchase with PayPal,
just like you would with any other online store. You provide your
financial information through PayPal's secure site, for one transaction, only. PayPal
does not save your information. If you make purchases in the
future, with PayPal, you will have to enter all your information again.
(This inconvenience is the main reason to
have an account.) Both methods are equally secure. Learn
more about PayPal at www.paypal.com.
I don't like using credit cards. Can I ask PayPal to deduct money directly from my checking account?
Yes, but it may slow down your transaction. Learn more about PayPal at www.paypal.com.
Can I use a debit card with PayPal?
Yes. Learn more about PayPal at www.paypal.com.
After payment, how long does it take to receive my digital product or classroom key?
Products are delivered instantaneously. At the completion of your payment, you will automatically be sent to a download link. However, if you choose a slow payment method, this will slow your process. See additional download information below. For online class details, see the class FAQ section.

.
Download Process:
How do I access my purchased product?
As soon as your payment is processed, the software will take you directly to the download link. In order to enhance the download speed, many products, such as e-books, have multiple parts. The download link will take you to a page which shows all the parts. Be sure to download each portion, each of which requires a separate action. In addition to this automatic re-direct, the link will be emailed to you.
How long are my purchased files available?
24 hours.
Do I need special software to download my product?
No, but you need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to read the PDF files. This is a FREE download, available here.
What do I do if I have problems with the download?
Reference the Download Tutorial, for detailed information.
Reading the Downloaded Files:
Do I need special software to read the files?

Computer Help:
I'm not very technically savvy, and I'm worried that I won't be able to handle the download process. What kind of help is available?
There's a detailed Download Tutorial with step by step instructions. In addition, Ellen offers a free download of her Travel Necklace instructions. The download process for this is exactly the same as that for her e-books and classes. If you can download and read this file, you'll know that you can do the same with the other files. See additional information pertaining to computer use in Ellen's online classes in the FAQ-Classes section.
Printing Options:
If I decide to print my e-book pages, how much ink will I be using?
Probably not that much, although it depends on which pages you print and whether you print in color. Ellen has provided several ink-saving options, which are explained in the "Read First" file. (Note: Ellen's e-books have extra wide left margins. If printed, the pages can easily be bound into a book format, complete with a Table of Contents, chapters, and page numbers.)
